Meet Matt

Hey hey hey!! My name is Matthew Grayson! I am absolutely in love with this “Special” movement! It took me a very long time to realize that EVERYONE is SPECIAL including me! You see, I have always downplayed or disregarded my life and my journey!! I have always thought that my triumphs and my journey was nothing special and I put everyone first!!! Lisa and this movement has made me realize that my life and its journey is special. I am a biracial man, that is from the DC area but was raised in a very small minded small town, by a single mom. I have been physically, mentally, and sexually abused! Looked upon as a leader because of my size and physical abilities, that eventually became my identity. That was a gift and a curse! See, I have a wonderful mom, and two very loving sisters. I had a great relationship with my father. I never had a problem in school, and I have 3 college degrees, but I still was lost and searching for my purpose on this earth. I have overcome, poverty, abuse, trouble with the law, fired from my dream job, and have hit rock bottom! I AM SPECIAL! And so are you! We all have our stories of triumphs!! Mine may be similar to yours or very different. But we are connected because we have and will continue to grow from our mishaps and bumps in the road! Which I don’t think are “bad” at all!! It’s builds character and it makes our story even better!! I will continue on this journey, learning to love my life just the way it is, and learn to appreciate how far I have come!!!
