My name is Stacey. I am a divorced mom of two very amazing kids! They are my inspiration. I am 43 and have had plenty curve balls thrown in my direction. When I was pregnant with my first baby, I lost my mom to ovarian cancer. She fought a long tough battle and ultimately lost. She lost out on a lot. She was robbed. She never got to see her grandchildren or see her own daughter as a mom.
Once We decided to have a second baby, I had to go through infertility issues that cost an arm and a leg, crying all the time, shots, drugs, procedures and more crying. But I finally got my blessing two years later. My boy.
Once you’re a mom, that’s it. Nothing else matters. You give your life to your kids. And I gave! Everything! All I have, I will give until my last breath. But that’s not easy to do.
My husband and I began to fight and argue over nothing and everything. For 10 years we fought. Once I was done, I was done and filed for divorce. Even after everything I had been through, this was a very tough decision. How could I break up the home?? But the truth was, how could I not! I didn’t want my daughter to think it was ok to allow a man to treat a woman this way, or my son to think it was ok to treat a woman this way. (I later learned to identify instead of women/men to use the term ‘partners’) Dealing with their feelings and my own has been an obstacle .. especially with the pandemic. We are all staying home - my ex moved out of state. I try to make the kids free to talk about anything ... my daughter announced late last year that she was bi-sexual. She had a girlfriend. And she was happy. I love it! She is who she is and she was happy!!!! That’s really all I want for them, happiness!! (Gotta love the rainbow eyeshadow I let her do to show support)
I’ve recently started dating. Dating after 40 is a shit show! But I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have met my guy! He treats me right, loves my kids and makes me feel like a queen!!! We make an amazing team! This is my story. This is what makes me Special! Thank you, Lisa, for this amazing platform to share my story!
